Why we need this role

The candidate will be responsible for thorough technical validation and feasibility check of customer requirement on Layer 2 transmission in coordination with various teams like Front-end Teams (Sales/ Sales Engineering) / Delivery / Network Operations / Engineering / Capacity Management. Gather and analyse Customer business requirements to develop technical network solutions and their framework as to provide clear deliverables to downstream teams.

Will act as solution architect performing end to end analysis of Transmission Network for Colt Ethernet / IP / Voice Services, and further providing solutions design document basis Customer requirement and Network architecture deliverables i.e. clear work instructions for the downstream delivery teams for seamless planning and execution of solution. The candidate should also be able to validate L2 Access network capacity by referring various planning tools and NMS systems.

Candidate will be responsible to lead complex customer projects. He/she is expected to have technical expertise on current platforms and processes so that he/she works as Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the team. The person will be responsible to lead escalations and must demonstrate Colt values at all stages.

What you will do

  • Technical validation and feasibility analysis of Transmission Network for Colt Ethernet / Wave / IP / Voice Services… Producing low-level design for customer solutions over Colt’s Ethernet Packet / DWDM / OTN / MSP / M MSP / legacy TDM/ ATM / DSLAM Networks, as per target-timelines.
  • Provide solutions design document basis Customer requirement and Network architecture deliverables.
  • Co-ordinate with Front-end Teams, Sales, Sale Engineering, Delivery, Network Operations, Engineering, Capacity Management etc.. for designing to provide clear information to downstream teams and smooth implementation of the customer services.
  • Ensure KPI conformance > 98%.
  • Maintain a high quality of output and ensure completion of tasks with a target of zero errors.
  • Real time closure of Solution handling system & workflow tools.
  • Interfacing with peer groups within Service delivery teams.
  • Handling complex solution related deliveries such as Ethernet VPN/ Bespoke etc.
  • Leading & executing delivery projects and migration projects.

What we're looking for

  • The ideal candidate with 2-5 years of relevant industry experience in Solution design, provisioning/planning of services (on Ethernet, SDH/SONET, DWDM, OTN, ATM, Packet N/W), and having practical experience of Layer 2 service provisioning.
  • Excellent Solution design skills of Ethernet Packet & Optical network.
  • Excellent knowledge of Colt products (Ethernet, Wave, HSS etc.)
  • Applied knowledge of Colt’s network architecture, its capabilities and limitations.
  • Flair for a Network service provider environment, which involves customer solution design, validation, implementation & documentation.
  • Excellent knowledge of Transmission, Ethernet / DWDM / OTN / MSP / M MSP / ATM / DSLAM Networks / NG Packet Network Technologies.
  • Experience in provisioning / planning / installations & commissioning / testing / NOC environment (on PDH / SDH, DWDM, ATM, EoSDH)
  • Excellent understanding of Metro-Ethernet technologies and MPLS based L2 VPN services (Ethernet P2P or P2MP)
  • Good knowledge of various interface used to deliver Data, Voice and IP based circuits on transmission network.
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills able to articulate technical concepts into documentation.
  • Good working knowledge on MS – Office (Visio, Word, PPT & Excel) and other tools used for day 2 day administrative tasks.
  • Liaise effectively with other teams when necessary
  • Fluent in Japanese
  • Conversational English
  • CCNP/CCIE would be plus.
