Why we need this role
Driven by our increasingly customer-centric approach, Colt is experiencing growing demand for complex customer projects ranging from dark fiber to SD-WAN solutions.
This role is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of customer projects, ensuring alignment with customer expectations on cost, quality, and timelines, while contributing directly to Colt’s business success.
The Customer Project Manager will also support pre-sales activities, including bid management, planning, and defining governance structures to ensure successful project execution.
What you will do
- Lead medium to large customer-facing projects (including multimillion-scale deals) from initiation to delivery
- Develop and execute detailed project plans, including scope, milestones, and resource allocation
- Coordinate with internal teams (Sales, Engineering, Delivery, Operations) and external vendors (data centers, fiber/civil partners)
- Manage project governance, risks, issues, dependencies, and escalations proactively
- Track and report project progress, costs, and performance against KPIs
- Chair customer meetings and provide regular status updates with clear documentation
- Ensure delivery within agreed timelines, scope, and budget while maintaining high quality standards
- Manage project financials and forecasting
- Support pre-sales activities including bid defense and transition planning
- Maintain high-quality project documentation and ensure compliance with internal processes
- Supervise third-party vendors and ensure timely completion of deliverables
What we're looking for
Must haves:
- 2~3 years proven experience in project management and customer delivery (telecommunications preferred)
- 2~3 years experience managing customer orders and direct customer interaction
- Strong business communication and presentation skills (English & Japanese)
- Ability to manage customer escalations and expectations professionally
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in complex delivery environments
- Strong documentation and reporting skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of telecom technologies (Data Center, Dark Fiber, Ethernet, DWDM, IP, SD-WAN, MPLS, etc.)
- Ability to manage risks, costs, and timelines effectively
Might haves:
- Experience with dark fiber, civil work, or data center delivery
- Experience in provisioning, installation, testing (e.g., RFC2544)
- PMP or equivalent certification
- Experience in bid management or pre-sales support
- Multilingual capability (e.g., Chinese)
- Experience managing long-duration and large-scale projects
