Senior Tax Analyst
JP
Colt provides network, voice and data centre services to thousands of businesses around the world, allowing them to focus on delivering their business goals instead of the underlying infrastructure.
Why we need this role
The Tax Analyst will support the Head of Asia Tax in managing day-to-day tax operations across Japan and other Asian entities, with a strong focus on compliance, reporting, and coordination of recurring tax matters. The role will work closely with finance, payroll, accounting teams, and external advisors to help ensure timely and accurate tax filings, support tax audits and tax authority queries, and contribute to the continuous improvement of tax processes across the region. This is a hands-on role suited to a candidate with solid practical tax compliance experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to operate effectively in both Japanese and English business environments.
What you will do
- Support day-to-day tax compliance and reporting activities across Japan and other Asian entities, with Japan expected to be a key area of focus.
- Prepare, coordinate, and support tax filings and compliance processes, including fixed asset tax returns (償却資産税), Monthly withholding tax, Japan Consumption Tax (JCT), and Corporate Income Tax (CIT) reporting.
- Assist with the preparation, review, and coordination of tax returns, tax packs, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for relevant entities in Asia.
- Liaise with external tax advisors and service providers to support compliance filings, technical queries, tax audits, and tax authority correspondence.
- Maintain tax calendars, compliance trackers, and process documentation to support strong governance and timely execution across the region.
- Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, controls, and ways of working, and support the implementation of process enhancements where appropriate.
- Provide practical support on day-to-day tax queries from internal stakeholders, escalating technical, judgmental, or material matters as needed.
