Responsible for providing consulting, advisory and technical services to our clients across all industries. Have the capability to work with clients on strategy and architecture in key technical areas to help drive business change, security needs as well as regulatory and compliance.
The technical consultant is responsible within Colt's Go To Market division to work alongside pre-sales and post-sales teams to both generate new business and deliver solution-driven billable work for clients. Working closely with the Lead and Principle Consultants within the department, you will play a key part of delivering complex or bespoke outcomes for clients in multiple industry verticals, with an expectation of autonomy and self-sufficiency within your technical forte.
What you will do
Typical tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Supporting and collaborating within the broader consulting practice with fellow cross-technical consultants, architects and engineers with Cloud, Network, Security and architectural skills on short and long-term engagements by assisting with problem-solving and provide insights within established boundaries of responsibility.
- Taking full responsibility for specific elements in consulting engagements.
- Collaborating with clients in formal and informal consulting engagements. Understand and formalise the client's requirements by collecting data and delivering analysis.
- Ensuring proposed solutions for clients are correctly understood and effectively applied.
- Working effectively with cross-department and division teams such as Project Management, Innovation, Operations, Product Offering, Marketing and Sales.
- Driving revenue and margin in the division through complex new business opportunities, BAU transactional and developing and retaining existing accounts (churn reduction) with the Customer Success group.
- Creating technical and non-technical collateral as per customer and project requirements.
- Creating and collaborating in the creation of pre-sales related collateral along with the broader consulting practice.
- Contributing to practice improvement activities, such as value propositions and work packages.
What we're looking for
- Technical strategic planning and architecture.
- SME in a key technical area such as Cloud, Infrastructure, Networking or Security.
- Working well in a geographically dispersed team.
- Self-driven personal development planning.
- A broad understanding of the technical consulting landscape encompassing compute, network and security, current industry trends and future direction.
- Good presentation and communication skills.
- Awareness of general Governance, risk and regulatory frameworks (e.g. GDPR, DORA, NIS2, NIST)
- Vendor certification and experience in any of the following:
• Cisco ASA/Firepower / Meraki / Catalyst
• Fortinet – Fortigate/SD-WAN (SASE)
• Palo Alto – security
• Juniper – routing. Switching, Wifi
• Zscaler
- Experience conducting discovery and migration activities relating to customer network environments with a view to walk in take on being achieved either in house or with a 3rd party.
