Why we need this role
This role manages and directs Service Configuration and Activation Team Leads, responsible for configuration of service, mainly at Layer-2 for both Customer Orders and 'Internal Network Optimisation Orders' over Ethernet, Optical, Packet networks, into network management platform and supporting field technicians during activation of service. They are responsible for overseeing all network configuration and activation activities.
What you will do
- Assessing resource capacity and effort prioritisation to ensure technical support activities are delivered to a high standard and to agreed timelines.
- Managing, directing and training Service Configuration and Activation Team Leads, ensuring teams achieve KPIs.
- Overseeing all configuration and activation activities, ensuring agreed procedures and standards are followed and that orders are technically validated.
- Managing escalations and making decisions to solve issues, providing direction and steer to teams to navigate challenges.
- Building and managing relationships with internal teams and relevant stakeholders to ensure effective communication, expectation management, and timely resolution of escalations.
- Leading Continuous Service Improvement initiatives to evolve and enhance Configuration and Activation services.
What we're looking for
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in network design/provisioning within the relevant industry, with solid understanding and knowledge of installation, testing, and NOC environments (Optical/Ethernet/SDH/SONET, DWDM, EoSDH/IP).
- Business level proficieny in Japanese and English (Written and Speaking)
- At least 5 years of experience leading a team.
- Strong knowledge and genuine interest in network-related technologies.
- Strong technical background with the ability to provide instructions and explanations to non-technical audiences.
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and strong active listening ability.
- Practical knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Visio, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and other tools commonly used for daily administrative tasks.
- CCNP/CCIE certification is a plus.
