Job Summary

The Product Marketing Manager supports the Global Product Managers in managing the product lifecycle for IP/Security services in the Asian market place, specifically Japan. They help define product specifications to meet local requirements with an in depth local market know how to support local sales and pre-sales team. This role also helps localise collaterals and documents, own the local product representation and manages local processes and systems.

Job Description

Typical tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Help define product requirements and execute product developments, be part of the product development project teams and cover local aspects
  • Manage and monitor that all product capabilities are meeting customer requirements and initiate changes with the global product manager
  • Document specific customer requirements for the respective products
  • Monitor and manage the profitability of the respective products
  • Have a solid local market knowledge, own local list pricing
  • Be the local expert of the product portfolio and support major customer opportunities
  • Maintain local versions of product documentation for sales
  • Ensure the product is positioned correctly in the market and priced competitively
  • Track and report regularly on the product line business performance and create dashboards, executive reports and initiative business actions
  • Participate in major sales opportunity boards to evaluate the project requirements and advice on win chance strategy

Role Requirements

Skills and Experience

  • Business or Native Japanese and English language skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong experience in product management environment, preferably B2B. (Portfolio management, product planning, competitive analysis and pricing)
  • Solid background knowledge of L3 telecommunication services (IP Access, IP VPN, SD-WAN, Managed Security etc.) and the relevant marketplace (competition, customer profiles, suppliers).
  • Excellent communication skills and proven expertise in presentation techniques. Able to interact with press and analysts.
  • Being able to present and position complex topics from a customer perspective
  • Experience working in an international environment

 

Other Preferences

  • Any telecommunication relevant certification is a plus but are not mandatory (Cisco CCNA/CCNP)
  • Is self-driven and autonomous
  • Has ability to influence people outside of hierarchical control
  • Can focus on delivery and getting things done
