Job Summary

Paralegal supports Colt’s Asia and US legal team by conducting legal research, preparing legal documents, assisting in due diligence, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to provide legal support, where needed. They also support in organising, filing and record-keeping legal documents at Colt.
 

Job Description

Typical tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the management of contracts and legal agreements.
  • Assisting with corporate governance matters, such as preparing board meeting materials, drafting resolutions and minutes, and maintaining corporate records.
  • Assisting with document organisation, filing, and record-keeping within the legal department.
  • Assisting with the preparation and review of legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and policies.
  • Conducting research on legal issues relevant to Colt’s operations
  • Collaborating with other functions to provide legal support.
  • Developing written materials, such as legal memos, summaries, presentations and training materials, to communicate legal concepts and findings effectively.
  • Assisting with due diligence processes related to mergers and acquisitions, investments, or other transactions.

Role Requirements

  • Fluency in Japanese and English required, including drafting and contract interpretation
  • 1 to 4 years of post-qualification experience, preferably at a law firm or legal department of a multinational company
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and a varied workload, including when working on cross-border transactions
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Results-focused, efficient and pragmatic, with attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with demanding stakeholders
  • Willingness to be flexible to get the work done and ability to plan and manage time effectively
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with various nationalities in a global team and cross-cultural environment
