Why we need this role
The Regional Security Coordinator (Europe with focus on Spain, Iberian Peninsula) is responsible for overseeing and implementing security, policies, and procedures to ensure the safety and security of employees, assets, and operations within the region.
This role involves coordinating managing security operations, international teamwork, conducting risk assessments, and responding to security incidents. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in security management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This position will be based in Spain overseeing Security Operations in Europe.
What you will do
Operational Security Management:
- Oversee day-to-day security operations across multiple sites in Spain & Europe.
- Manage and coordinate security personnel, including in-house teams and third-party vendors.
- Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations and company policies.
Security Strategy and Planning:
- Manage regional security standards aligned with global security policies and best practice.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and threat analyses to identify potential security vulnerabilities.
- Create and update emergency response plans and crisis management protocols.
Incident Response and Crisis Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for security incidents within European region.
- Assist with investigations into security incidents and provide reports.
- Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services as required.
Training and Awareness:
- Develop and deliver security training programs for employees and contractors.
- Promote a culture of security awareness across the organization.
- Conduct regular drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of security plans.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and cross functional teams to ensure security measures support business objectives.
- Liaise with external partners, including government agencies, private security firms and industry groups.

Other responsibilities:
- Support internal and external audits and maitain site risk regsters and track actions to closure.
- Be responsible for Statement of Works for security operations for Spain & Europe.
- Engage in audit & compliance framework and various other governance standards for both operations and audit compliance and review KPIs and SLAs for the same on monthly basis.
- Hold reglar meetings and Quarterly Business Reviews alongside Procurement with suppliers for ensuring quality service, continuity of services.
- Develop & test Incident Management procedures including response to callouts for emergency response.
- Assist in internal and external audits - In country, BSI ISO 27001, ISO 22301, ISO 9000.
- Maintain regular reporting on key security risks and executing controls to minimize risk to operations.
- Support projects as aligned with Goals and Objectives.
- Attend mandatory training as required and upskilling (on the job learning).
- Support sustainability initiatives within the company.
What we're looking for
Key skills and experience:
- Communication skills -Strong ability to interact and communicate effectively with local leadership, business stakeholders, international colleagues, clients and external suppliers.
- Proven operational and technical skills with experience on handling teams across regions and in depth knowledge of physical security operations, risk management, incident management and continuous improvement.
- Have experience of performing professional security reviews and assessments of business operations and internal controls environments.
- Experience of managing manned guarding teams - Statement of Works and various tools for such management.
- Be familiar with risk assessment methods, tools and techniques.
- Be highly efficient in handling MS Office applications and latest data visualisation tools like PowerBI and MS project being an added advantage. Good working knowledge on MS Excel, Data Management and Reporting.
- Have excellent problem solving skills with strong analytical and reasoning skills to ensure a solution and collaborative approach.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in security management environment, preferably in IT/Datacenter, Telecommunications environment.
- Strong knowledge of security protocols, risk management, and crisis response.
- Familiarity with Spanish laws and regulations related to security and safety in the EU .
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in Spanish and good working knowledge of English.
- Professional certifications ("Director de Seguridad" (Security Director), "Responsable de Seguridad" (Security Manager)) are desirable but not and exams would be sponsored by Colt .
