What you will do
- Supporting the development, coordination, and implementation of our global data protection programme.
- Identifying, interpreting, and applying the EU General Data Protection Regulation, national laws, and European Data Protection Board Guidance.
- Working alongside business owners to research and understand emerging regulatory guidance and emerging regulations, including cybersecurity laws that impact the processing of personal information.
- Providing privacy risk management advice and consultation to business units operating globally, including dealing with problem-solving and a high volume of often complex queries.
- Providing advice on Privacy Impact Assessments.
- Supporting breach response in relation to privacy incidents and data breaches.
- Ensuring that data protection becomes fully embedded as part of business as usual through the development of extensive relationships within key functions.
- Fostering a culture of data protection by raising awareness and advocating privacy-by-design.
- Assessing and reviewing new products and features from a privacy perspective.
- Advising on and negotiating data protection clauses within commercial contracts.
- Developing and providing data protection training and awareness programs across different business sectors.
- Monitoring and responding to industry and regulatory developments in data protection and information security law.
- Drafting internal and external privacy and data protection policies.
- Advising on international data transfers and drafting necessary agreements.
- Improving programme templates and materials.
- Utilizing technology to scale Data Protection support and enhance the efficiency of the Data Protection Programme, including:
- Implementing data protection tools and software to automate compliance processes and manage data protection activities.
- Leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to identify and mitigate data protection risks.
- Using data encryption and anonymization techniques to protect sensitive information.
- Integrating data protection measures into existing IT infrastructure and business applications.
What we look for
- Qualified data protection specialist with extensive experience in data protection and the EU General Data Protection Regulation.
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary context.
- Experience in cross-functional cooperation.
- IAPP or similar accreditations would be advantageous.
- Ability to establish good working relationships with highly demanding internal and other stakeholders.
- Effective and credible communication skills.
- Ability to assess legal, practical, and business risks in a fast-paced environment and provide sound advice under tight deadlines.
- Robust and confident manner with the ability to work autonomously, knowing when to escalate.
- Ability to manage complex legal issues with a high degree of commerciality and pragmatism.
- Excellent communication skills to convey legal aspects with clarity, precision, and simplicity.

- Fluency in English is required; additional language skills would be desirable
