Why we need this role

We are hiring a group transfer pricing manager to lead global transfer pricing activities for COLT, reporting directly to the Vice President of tax and treasury. This role is responsible for developing and executing the group’s transfer pricing (TP) strategy, managing intercompany charge processes, maintaining the TP risk register, and setting annual TP priorities in alignment with the overall tax plan. The successful candidate will manage a team based in India, providing leadership, coaching, and development. They will regularly present complex TP matters to senior finance and business stakeholders, weighing risk, materiality, defensibility, and opportunity. The role also includes oversight of master and local file preparation to ensure compliance with OECD BEPS Action 13 (Country-by-Country Reporting), as well as monitoring regulatory developments across OECD and EU frameworks. The Transfer Pricing Manager will balance competing global priorities, allocate internal resources effectively, manage external advisors, and maintain TP documentation and training programs for tax and finance teams.

What you'll do

General Role responsibilities

  • Global transfer pricing lead with accountability for COLT reporting directly to the Vice President Tax and Treasury.
  • Development and implementation of TP strategy, and operational oversight of TP intercompany charges, risk register, and annual TP priority setting that feeds into annual tax plan.
  • Formal line manager role of direct reports based in India, including coaching and mentoring.
  • Reporting complex TP issues and opportunities appropriately to senior finance and business leaders balancing risk, materiality, opportunity and defensibility.
  • Oversee the preparation of master and local files for COLT businesses and ensure compliance with TP aspects of the OECD’s Country-by-Country Reporting under BEPS Action 13.
  • Identify risks and opportunities deriving from OECD and EU Directives.
  • Manage regular variable competing demands for limited internal transfer pricing resource by prioritising global work portfolio and work delegation and manage global external consultants.
  • Prepare and maintain transfer pricing manuals, and prepare and present global transfer pricing training to tax and finance staff. 

 

Transfer Pricing Advice and Structuring

  • Anticipation of material TP risks and opportunities with existing business models including leading any significant TP business restructuring and value chain projects of COLT’s business by balancing BEPS risks and requirements against value protection and opportunity identification. Ability to handle large organisation change including advising on PE and capital gains risks and practical implementation aspects with finance and legal teams.
  • Dealing with Advanced Pricing Arrangements (APAs) and Mutual Agreement Procedures (MAPs) for the U.K. and multiple other jurisdictions.
  • Provide global transfer advice to tax, finance and business stakeholders in multiple COLT Group businesses covering all aspects of TP, from policy design, dispute resolution strategy and compliance and implementation aspects. 

 

Transfer Pricing Compliance and Risk Management 

  • Quarterly review and accountability for global TP exposures and provisions and financial statement impact for the global businesses.
  • Managing TP disputes involving issues relating to intragroup services, product sales, trading functions and financing.
  • Lead for TP policy reviews with external auditors and agree annual workplan.
  • Manage the India TP team in delivering global TP documentation, group charges and benchmarking.

What we're looking for

Experience

  • Experience establishing and managing transfer pricing policies for global groups, and dealing robustly with tax authorities

  • Experience developing TP strategies and managing implementation projects across multiple teams and numerous jurisdictions

  • Ability to work on own initiative and to prioritise competing deadlines

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to explain transfer pricing issues to a non-tax audience.

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Good excel skills and a knowledge of SAP preferred

  • ACA, ACCA or similar qualified individual with experience in practice or in industry.
