Short Description
Reporting to the IT Infrastructure Director in the Technology Team, you will be responsible for the delivery and operation of the Security Systems at all of Colt’s existing, and future, data centres in across the globe.
You will review and approve the operational security architecture and design which is deployed in our sites, while ensuring that it is aligned with the Colt DCS global standard and Service Operation requirements.
Your technical expertise and years of experience in the data centre, or facility management, industry will enable you to provide leadership and technical guidance to your peers in Operations and suppliers and allow you to gain the confidence of Colt DCS’ customers.

Key accountabilities
Your main activities as Senior Security Systems Specialist will be:
Ensuring that our security systems are effectively and efficiently designed and transitioned into operations to protect the data centre and provide meaningful, timely alarms, notifications, and reports to end users.
Working with the wider Colt DCS Delivery, Operations and Technology Teams to ensure that the security systems have been configured to support new data centre deployments, new data requirements, and data centre retrofits.
Implementing corporate policies procedures, and standards to maximize the performance of the security systems, including systems, applications and networks.
Identifying and recommending suitable external consultants and contractors and assisting in the preparation of their contracts.
You will play a leading role in the delivery of the security systems design for existing and new sites, managing external consultants and contractors to meet technical requirements for the successful delivery of the project and to achieve cost effective and resilient infrastructure that meets operational and customer requirements.
Auditing existing data centres to identify single points of failure. You will also identify equipment and software approaching end-of-life or that are no longer supported. You will make proposals to bring these systems up to the Colt DCS global standard through creative and innovative designs while considering the Total Cost of Ownership.
Preparing the requirements for any new data centre security systems with the Colt DCS Transition team and ensuring that they are delivered as specified.
Working with the Operations team to understand their needs and requirements and ensuring that these are reflected in any further data centre builds. You will also work with the Operations team as a 3rd line of support for incidents and problems.
Interfacing with the Service Operations team to ensure that the requirements that they specified are delivered.
Interfacing with your peers in the global IT Delivery and Operations team so that a global security systems standard can be maintained across Colt DCS.
Working closely with customers to understand their security requirements in existing data centres and with Colt DCS Sales to make proposals for new services.
Working with internal and external Cyber Security specialists to ensure Colt security system environments adhere to industry security standards and best practice.
THE SKILLS / EXPERTISE YOU BRING
5 ~ 10 years of experience working with security systems - Essential
Working knowledge of various CCTV/VM systems (e.g. Milestone VMS and HikVision) - Essential
Working knowledge of various AACS systems (e.g. Nedap AEOS, Borer Fusion) - essential
Working knowledge ofd various Alarm and Intrusion Detection Systems (e.g.) Sureview IMMIX - Essential
Experience with Network configuration, TCP/IP configuration, SNMP, etc… - Essential
Experience with configuring and operating relational database systems (SQL, MySQL, Oracle) - Desirable
Experience of implementing IOT, Cloud projects – Desirable
Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
