Job Title: Senior VAT Compliance

Job Summary

The position involves ensuring accurate VAT compliance across the UK and multiple European jurisdictions while providing support to the Indirect Tax team regarding advisory to be provided to internal stakeholders. The role requires a good understanding of European VAT regulations, cross-border transactions, and reporting requirements as the primary responsability for the role will be to oversee Global VAT Compliance deliverables and to participate in ad hoc VAT advisory. For this role it is necessary to have a right attitude towards process governance and controls.

What you will do

Typical tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare and coordinate Compliance deliverables with the internal team and external compliance providers.
  • Carry-out monthly/ quarterly/ annual VAT forecasts.
  • Handle statutory/ internal audit and support VAT audits.
  • Drive process Governance within the VAT team.
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
  • Identify and timely escalate potential issues to the Reporting Manager.
  • Support such other projects as may be assigned from time to time.

What we are looking for

  • At least 4 years work experience handling EU/UK VAT Compliance, with at least 1 year of in-house experience
  • Must be able to work with a high deal of accuracy.
  • Analytical bend of mind.
  • Good written and verbal communication in English, as well as presentation skills.
  • Should be able to relate to multi-cultural European customers.
  • Ability to work under significant pressure and commitment to meet stringent timelines.
  • Must possess the skills to work cross-functionally, identify best practices and ensure standardization.
  • Keen to take up extra responsibilities.
  • Mind-set of excellent process execution and continuous improvement.
  • Good command of Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Must be inquisitive, open to learning and keen to pursue any opportunity for self-development.

It would be desirable:

  • VAT Advisory experience would be desirable
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance or Accounting or a relevant field would be desirable.
