  • To provide subject matter expert (SME) support to the team for managing complex and major network incident faults with first time correct investigation and troubleshooting with full responsibility 24*7. This involves managing the appropriate, timely level of escalation on complex, escalated and reoccurring network faults
  • Work closely with cross functional teams within Colt and 3rd party suppliers to ensure that delivery of the architecture is fit for purpose and meets the NOC expectations
  • Work independently and in a hands-on manner
  • Participate/ Drive the technical design & NOC requirement  from high level architecture through to detailed interface designs.

What you will do:

  • Expert domain knowledge in multiple telecom technologies (DWDM, Ethernet and SDH)
  • To act as an 2nd escalation point internally and support on call for Network incident driven escalations & Major network incidents 24*7 
  • Develop and deliver a programme of continuous improvement, focusing on process, procedure and methods used to provide effective network management
  • Significant contributor to the high performance work environment by establishing and achieving high standards consistent with our objectives
  • Establishment of strong communication / relationships with functional leaders to enhance communication and co-ordination of network management activities
  • Mentor employees with a strong pro-active growth mind-set
  • Proactively identify and help to resolve gaps in the designs as they are found, through the build and test cycles Validate HLDs with user communities of the systems affected and providing sign off .
  • Provides support to developers , project manager , business owners during implementation of projects, assist in  design change requests.
  • Deep understanding of Telecom Network design and architectures 
  • Participate in user acceptance testing, project workshops and other activities as a NOC user to ensure NOC requirements are met in a smooth manner and there is no NOC impact

Skills & Experience  
•    Technology specialist 
•    Technical management of MNIs and complex faults 24*7
•    Resolution manager for MNI 
•    End to end fault resolution on escalated faults 
•    Drive and track corrective actions
•    Support UAT and SIT testing 
•    ISO audit compliance 
•    Internal technical trainer for skill development
•    Internal ticket audit and feedback
•    Continuous process improvements
•    Participation in customer calls along with Sales/CRM/IM etc.
•    Ability to deal with Escalations (Internal/ external).
•    Proven experience in Telco Service Assurance and Trouble to Repair processes
•    Knowledge of Relational Database concepts and ability to review database structures and define high level query strategies
•    Working / Hands-on knowledge & experience of optical WDM & DWDM networks (Adva, Infinera, Nortel, Ciena, Nokia) and SDH
•    Working knowledge of Ethernet / Metro-Ethernet networks (Preferably Nokia Siemens Network MSP, Alcatel Lucent MSP )
                    


Qualifications                        
Essential:-

  • Electronics & Communication Engineer (Diploma or B.E.) with 6+ years’ experience in Network Management / O&M profile in multi-vendor environment
  • Results oriented    
  • Collaborative team player

Desirable:-

  • ITIL foundation.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
