Apprentice Program Purpose

The HR Apprentice Program is designed to develop early-career talent into capable HR professionals through structured exposure to core HR operations, compliance, systems, and employee lifecycle management.

The program aims to build strong foundations in accuracy, integrity, stakeholder communication, and operational excellence.

 

Program Objectives

The apprentice will receive structured exposure across:

  • Employee Lifecycle Management (Hire-to-Retire)
  • Onboarding & Exit Management
  • Benefits & Employee Wellbeing
  • Employee Data Management & Documentation
  • HR Systems (HRIS) & Reporting
  • Regulatory & Compliance Support
  • Employee Engagement & Communication
  • Basic HR Analytics & Metrics

Program Structure

Quarter 1 – Foundation

  • Learn HR policies and processes
  • Support onboarding and documentation
  • Understand HR systems and data management
  • Build strong discipline around confidentiality and accuracy

 

Quarter 2 – Process Ownership

  • Coordinate onboarding and benefits processes
  • Support payroll inputs and attendance tracking
  • Handle basic employee queries
  • Strengthen communication and time management skills

 

Quarter 3 – Systems & Analytics

  • Assist in HR reporting and dashboards
  • Understand HR metrics (attrition, headcount, etc.)
  • Support compliance and audit preparation
  • Identify process improvement opportunities

 

Quarter 4 – Ownership & Initiative

  • Lead a small HR initiative or engagement activity
  • Manage routine HR processes independently
  • Document a standard HR process (SOP)
  • Present your learning journey to HR leadership

Governance & Review Mechanism

  • Monthly 1:1 feedback discussions
  • Quarterly formal performance review
  • Defined competency evaluation across:
    • Integrity & Confidentiality
    • Accuracy & Attention to Detail
    • Communication
    • Ownership & Initiative
    • Analytical Capability
    • Professional Conduct

Success Criteria

By the end of the program, you will be able to:

  • Independently manage routine HR operations
  • Respond confidently to employee queries
  • Support compliance and documentation processes
  • Prepare basic HR reports
  • Demonstrate ownership and professional maturity

Post-Program Outcome

Based on performance and organizational needs,

  • High-performing apprentices may be considered for full-time opportunities based on performance and business requirements
  • Awarded a completion certification                 

                                                                            

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline (recent graduate).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Eager to learn and build a long-term career in HR
