Job Summary
As finance manager for Germany, you will be responsible for providing financial support for 3 DCS companies in Germany across the full suite of financial services including reporting, forecasting, budgeting, business partnering and statutory compliance activities in accordance with German GAAP and other relevant regulations. You will be supported by subject matter experts in Tax and External Reporting as well as teams Financial Shared Service Centre and will have a budget for third party support on tax and statutory reporting.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Provide business partnering support to the DCS Construction and Operations teams in Germany, particularly on the ongoing Major Construction Projects including monthly reviews of build costs and investment return models and support for management review packs and Steering Committee meetings.
Prepare financial analysis on the monthly and year-end results against budget and review financial packs prepared by the Financial Shared Service Centre
Support the quarterly forecast and annual budget forecast and long term strategic plan processes for the Germany entities.
Provide adhoc analytical support relating to Germany as directed by the Finance Leadership Team and key business contacts.
Manage the preparation, audit and filing of financial statements and statistical reports in compliance with German GAAP and other relevant regulations.
Review tax packs used for annual calculations for Direct Tax and monthly VAT returns.
Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to financial reporting, including French Commercial Code, French Accounting Standards (PCG), and other relevant regulations.
Work collaboratively with other teams, including tax, legal, and business units, to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
Stay up-to-date on changes to accounting standards and regulations in Germany and implement necessary changes to accounting practices.
Qualifications:
Certified Public Accountant (Expert-Compatible) or equivalent professional certification required.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or other field.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with track history of success in a business partnering or management accounting role
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software (preferably SAP).
Post qualification experience including exposure to statutory accounting and financial reporting in Germany.
Good working knowledge of German GAAP and other relevant local regulations.
Experience of Construction or Data Centre industry preferred
