Why we need this role

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to manage end‑to‑end invoice processing, vendor payments, and expense report reviews. In this role, you will ensure timely and accurate AP transactions, maintain strong internal controls, support month‑end close activities, and provide documentation for audits. You will work closely with vendors and internal teams to resolve discrepancies and uphold compliance with company policies. 

What you will do

Invoice Processing

  • Review, verify, and process incoming vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure proper authorization and matching of invoices to purchase orders or contracts.
  • Handle invoice discrepancies and resolve any issues with vendors or internal teams.


Payment Processing

  • Prepare and process payments (checks, electronic transfers, ACH, etc.) to vendors.
  • Schedule payments based on due dates and cash flow considerations.
  • Ensure payments are accurately recorded in the general ledger and in accordance with company policy.


Expense Reports

  • Review employee expense reports and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Process reimbursements for employees and ensure that the expenses are properly categorized.


Month-End and Year-End Close

  • Assist with the preparation of month-end and year-end financial reports related to accounts payable.
  • Help ensure the timely closure of the AP sub-ledger and reconciliation with the general ledger.
  • Provide necessary documentation for audits as needed.


Compliance & Internal Controls

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulatory requirements
  • Assist in maintaining internal controls for the accounts payable process to minimize the risk of fraud or error.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate documentation for audit purposes.

What we're looking for

  • Fluency in Japanese and English
  • 5+ years of experience in an accounts payable or similar role
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., SAP) and Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and AP processes
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to resolve vendor issues and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders
