Summary

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to develop their career with the experience of working with a Global company, based in our Poznan offices, you will be part of a Finance team of over 500 employees, split across EMEA.

The Lead Accountant will manage the EMEA Revenue Accounting Team and will report to the Senior Manager, EMEA Accounting. Responsibilities include providing timely and accurate monthly accounting and reporting under US GAAP, supporting statutory audits under local GAAP, driving change through process improvements, enhanced reporting and automation and proactively supporting the team’s skills and career development. 

The core hours of work are Monday to Friday 9am - 6pm, working 40 hours per week.

 

The Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the EMEA compliance and statutory team of 3 people
  • Monthly Opex accounting and reporting under IFRS
  • Work closely with the tax team, external reporting manager and external auditors to meet internal and external compliance and reporting deadlines
  • Automation of compliance process in collaboration with the tax team and other stakeholders
  • Provide support and trainings to the wider accounting team on compliance, VAT and statutory reporting requirements
  • Reviewing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Review and improve VAT accounting and statutory processes and act as the main point of contact between VAT preparers, statutory accounting team, Tax team and external local advisors
  • Managing centralised audit PBC's with the wider accounting team and liaise with the external auditors and our external reporting manager
  • Managing audits and shadow books process for the wider accounting team in EMEA
  • Proactively identifying efficiencies and automation opportunities, working closely with other team members, broader finance teams and partners to deliver these improvements / the change management aspect of these initiatives
  • Assisting the Senior Manager / Director of Accounting with ad-hoc projects

 

What We Look for in a Candidate

Minimum Requirements

•    4+ years of experience within similar sized entities or from an accounting firm

•    Strong knowledge of core accounting principles

•    Microsoft Office – intermediate or advanced Excel

 

Preferred Requirements

•    Experience of SAP, Oracle or other large ERP systems

•    IFRS reporting experience would be an advantage

 

This is a hybrid role that requires attendance in the Poznan office one/two days per week.
