MISSION

This role sits within the Japan region and will work with a variety of stakeholders at all levels, both centrally and in our Europe operations, to develop and implement, maintain and improve the health, safety and environmental management within operations across the region (operational sites and construction sites).

 

OUTCOMES

Be a part of the development and implementation of HSE continual improvement in Japan construction and operational activities, while having a close relationship with the global HSE team. The role involves governance over the global standards being developed and implemented by the HSE team, while working closely with all stakeholders in the business.

 

THE TEAM

The HSE department in Japan consists of two people who will have to work closely together to cover the Japan operational and construction sites and provide governance, guidance and advice to stakeholders on HSE matters. The role requires integration and work with the wider global HSE department, with the department having six members globally. The HSE team globally interacts with stakeholders across the business, specifically in operations, construction, procurement, legal. The role also requires frequent interaction with the Colt DCS customers, both on-site and off-site.

 

The role requires interaction with the following:

  • Senior Director HSE and global HSE team.
  • Operations and Construction teams in Japan
  • Certification body
  • External suppliers
  • Legal team
  • Sustainability team
  • Customers

 

 

THE SKILLS / EXPERTISE YOU BRING

  • Communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to develop and deliver training
  • Good knowledge of HSE legislation
  • Good knowledge of international standards and experience auditing against international standards
  • Attention to detail
  • Willingness to travel in Japan between DCS sites
