Role Purpose:

Provide operational and employee relations support across all aspects of the Employee Lifecycle in The Netherlands, in line with local laws and regulations. Provide expertise across all areas of HR Operations ensuring a pro-active, consistent and efficient approach in line with our Global Operating Model.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide advice and assistance to Dutch employees and managers for all employment related queries, with reference to, and interpretation of, local legislation, the employee handbooks and policies.
  • Partner with business and HR stakeholders to provide support across all aspects of HR Operations to ensure that business needs can be met whilst remaining legally compliant, and operating in line with best practice guidelines
  • Lead Employee Relations cases including redundancies, negotiations and consultations
  • Provide advice to colleagues Globally on Employment law in The Netherlands
  • Lead and lease with direct management on performance related matters and investigations including grievances, performance improvement plans and disciplinaries
  • Manage extended sick leave cases, liaise with occupational health providers for advice, review recommendations and discuss course of action with line managers and employees
  • Monitor and review HR policies and processes to ensure they are locally compliant. Maintain accurate and up to date documentation for processes and working practices
  • Support the operational elements of all key people processes e.g. performance management, talent management, annual salary and benefits review
  • Ensure all employment changes are updated in HR systems and communicated effectively to payroll as appropriate
  • Support the implementation of HR policy, programmes and business change management initiatives operationally
  • Collaborate with HR Colleagues across all specialisms on the delivery of various global HR initiatives to drive business change
  • Manage and approve monthly payroll submissions
  • Escalation point for local pensions & benefits matters
  • Support onboarding and introduction programs locally
  • Actively participate in National Workers Council meetings, document action points and deliverables to support business goals.


Role Requirements:

  • At least 4 years of working experience in HR of which 2 years preferably in a similar role.
  • Broad knowledge of all core operational HR tasks including payroll processing, employee relations and onboarding/offboarding.
  • Up to date knowledge of Dutch employment legislation and best practice.
  • Experience in working in a highly matrixed international organisation is a plus.
  • Experience in dealing with National Workers Council and thus familiar with all regulations and operating modalities thereabouts.
  • Familiarity with SAP (Successfactors) or other HRIS is essential.
  • Experience in documenting and improving processes, driving continuous improvement and challenging the status quo in terms of operational activities.
  • Strong, resilient and approachable personality with high level of diplomacy.
  • Strong customer focus, for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Capacity to deal with a wide range of stakeholders with conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and cope with pressure.
  • Able to demonstrate initiative, influence and problem solving skills.
  • Friendly and able to converse with people at any level.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, deductive reasoning, inductive reasoning and analytical skills.
  • Strong project management skills, particularly with respect to organisation, prioritisation, and time management.
  • Strong teamplayer with excellent communication skills
  • Master in Human Resources or equivalent level, or equivalent by experience.
  • Proficient in English and Dutch : written and spoken.
